My lil Rocker Chic

My little fashionista have made another remarkable image this time... Once a cutesy baby, turned to lil kikay and now my rockerchic... With those cute polka-tie...ooh how i love enjoying every fashion moment of my little girl. I know someday, I'll be a proud mom of a famous beauty icon....

Sign mo Laugh ko

I missed doing this part of my blog. But I won't permit the year to pass without my year end sign mo laugh ko. I understand that these days, a lot of sale items, promotions and clearance items are everywhere. And you can see signs that will catch your attention, and this one really caught mine. I'm a fan of "sale" items and before coming in the store, I always look for the sign as to how many percent the discount would be and other promotional propaganda. Here's one:

Maybe the store has a lot of "sale" items, they have sales and yet they still have "buy 1 take 1" promotion." See, "Sales, 10% off, and buy 1 take 1." There are 3 promotions in 1 store and they were correct, "Sale for singular, sales for plural...." ok Maybe my english teacher would hate me for giving justifications for this...uhmmmmm.....

My BFF makes me feel good...

Yes, truly I have BFF and it definitely makes me feel good everytime I ask her help. It makes me look good and feel good. And I won't be making further introductions, just hang on and meet my BFF...... My Make up collections... Nyahahaha!!!

My make-up collections and my Brushes

I've always loved to experiment on my looks. If I feel bored in the way I do my hair and my face, I'd simply call my BFF's attention and ask for a little help. A little do over here and there and Voila!!!! A new me. That's why it makes me really look and feel good all the time. It's been my investment since the day I learned how to put it on. I keep reading magazines, blogs, reviews to keep me updated. It may be a bit expensive but I tell you, it's worth it.

A closer look to my favorites, MAC Prep and Prime with SPF. Just after cleansing and toning and before applying anything on, This MAC Prep and Prime really does wonders. It makes your make up application smooth and easy to blend. Another is MAC Loose Powder and Nars Loose Powder. It's my last and finishing touches. After Applying make up, loose powder sets it and I can wear my make up all day long, no retouching needed.

My make up essentials are my Shu Uemura falsies, Lash Grip Glue and Shu Uemura Curler. These are the things that I can't live without when it comes to my beauty rituals. I have a very small and dull eyes and because of these 3 essentials, I feel more comfortable with my look because they open my soul windows and gives drama to my look.

Good time with Good friends

Just after Christmas day, Kay and I decided to finally meet after a long long time...months and weeks....heheheh.. We had a very nice chit chatting and dinner..(thanks to kay) at Bubba Gump in Trinoma...I was so touched with her eagerness to see us sine she leaves in the south and I'm in a far away north. Not to mention her traffic disasters. She can even ask me to meet her halfway...but to my convenience, she met me in the far far away kingdom of trinoma.... hehehehhe...It was really nice seeing her again and having some small talks, sharing stories bout our kids. When we were still officemates, we never had enough time to bond. Because we see each other as a bitch and a witch....And we ended up as "magkumare." Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year to you! Have a blessed life ahead....

Can't Resist Bar-b-Que

My Bro playing with the heart-shaped basket of condiments...
The Bar-B-Que you can't resist.
My son and his favorite

All of us love bar-b-que? Isn't it? I mean, who doesn't? I have tried a lot of barbeques from every places I've traveled to but there's only one barbeque that makes me keep coming back. Even my son's dainty taste buds keep wanting more. The barbecue stand I'm bragging is located in Project 4 q.c. I must admit they really serve delicious barbeque and even if we live in Timog, we still drop by in Project 4 just to have an awesome taste satisfaction for our cravings. The name of the barbeque stand or the canteen I should say is Morning Sun. HEHEHE!!! If you happen to drop by at Rajah Matanda cor. JP Rizal in project 4, try to grab some barbeques and I assure you, 100% it tastes really good and for me, it's the barbeque that you can't resist.

She is so kikay!

Today, I had a very nice shopping time alone. I've been wanting this time alone. Going to mall by myself, not worrying about anybody, about time or whatever that would interfere on my shopping abilities. Nyahahah! I'm so pleased with all the cute stuffs I saw. They really caught my attention because i must admit, I seldom buy stuffs for my baby girl, because my mom would tell me not to. She's coming home this week and she has a lot of stuffs for my girl. But when i saw these bracelets, necklaces for young kikays, haaay, I wasn't able to stop myself. I splurge into abubot shopping for my little kikay. I was thinking if she would wear those, and fortunately my baby is a kikay at heart. She loved it too. I wasn't able to take pictures for the nice shirts and dresses I bought because I asked ate baby to wsh it quick, in time for the coming of her granny. I bought her 2 mini dresses for her tights and leggings.... 1 polo shirt and pedal shorts and baby necktie, imagine how my little kikay will turn into a baby fashionista. hehehe.. Oh how i really loved seeing my baby building her own character, her own physique, image...I suddenly realized, hey, I want her to be the future Binibining Pilipinas.... Seeing her happy with her stuffs made me say that she'll be a true blue beauty queen very soon. I just can't wait to see her grow up....

Financial Crisis in December

Truly, Filipinos would never let Christmas pass without celebrating. Everytime I experience traffic jams especially near the malls, I would always think, Do we really have this financial crisis and credit crunch around the world? Maybe, just maybe, these people are trying to search for the gifts to their loved ones and haggle until they get it 60 or 70% less than the actual price. But seeing the prices in the malls, it makes me wonder, how can an ordinary person survive. Even lets say, buying on sale. Honestly, I'm not a sale person here in the Philippines. Why? simply because I can't buy the things I like if it's on sale. They try to keep all those latest items and products that I've been eyeing for a week, and if I wait for the sale period, and go back to the boutique, sorry for me, different items were displayed. And it made me disappointed. Because they advertise "ALL ITEMS 50% OFF" So, here I am excited about the sale, and when I step in the store, I see all items were old stocks.
Now that prices in the grocery shoot up to 20 to 30%, how will others celebrate their noche buena? Before, when I buy Fiesta Ham, a kilo costs only 194 php. Now just bought last week, it costs 300php or even higher. It really makes a difference but Filipinos are very good in making both ends meet. They are good in budgeting their money. As long as there will be food for the whole family, they will really try to celebrate Christmas all together even if there is the financial crisis. Filipinos will still face this crisis and I know and I believe they can surpass all these things.

Tis the season to be jolly...

As a cliche from a very popular christmas song. "Tis the seaso to be jolly..." Makes me realize how to make our less fortunate brothers and sisters to be jolly if there were no food on their tables, no new clothes for the christmas get togethers, no colorful lights and lanterns hanging in ther windows, no christmas atmosphere around their houses... And as true as what the phrase says this is the season to make us happy and merry. Not only kids but even the Dads who have been working all year round to provide all necessities for the family and the moms who's been so much busy taking care of the little echo makers of the house and making both ends meet for their weekly budget. While trying to figure out what to do and how to help, I was so glad to have come up with an idea of christmas gift giving for the less fortunate people from the activity of my son in school. They had a very early gift giving for the little ones. It was held in the Sacred Heart Gym last Dec. 6, 2008. Students from PAref Rosefield were gathered and at the same time the children of the Brgy Sacred Heart. Each students have their own kid counterpart from the Brgy Sacred heart kids. Just looking and observing I saw a really big difference on how a fortunate kid and a less fortunate kid were raised by their parents. This observation is a realization on my part. Because it knocked out my heart and made me teary eyed. Although I have to hide it myself because I don't want to catch attention from the parents beside me. But I'm sure that each parents may have their own realization as i had. Maybe the School Administrator's purpose for their gift giving is to show the Paref Rosefield student the value of sharing, And I'm so proud that they made it right. They were successful in teaching their little citizens the virtue and it even caught me there...

I wish the Paref Community will continue to do this activity. Thank you Paref for being a good example to all your little good citizens..Good virtues will start from our kiddos and if this will continue from their childhood, our nation will soon be populated with good persons and professional citizens.

Lola Ely's Tapsilog

Lola ely's Tapsilog

Condiments please...

The home of Robin Padilla...Lola Ely's Tapsilog along Felix Huertas in Tayuman near University Belt in Manila. During my FEU days, I would hear a lot of stories about how Robin Padilla made Lola Ely's a favorite tapsilog spot in Manila. As you enter their simple canteen you can see lots of pictures of Robin Padilla posted in their wall with Lola Ely. But that was a long long time ago. He may have forgotten Lola Ely but the famous canteen during the 80's have never forgotten the marks of their favorite actor. I brought my hubby here just to let him taste the famous tapsilog of all time. The taste is still the same but the quantity...hmmm looks like a mini tapsilog for us. Hehehe well, It's ok the price is very cheap though. Anyway, my hubby was able to manage 3 tapsilog and 1 lumpiang gulay. I only had 1 tapsilog and very filling already. I even had take away order for my bro. He even commented on the amount of tapsilog, the size of the egg and the rice..oohhh he said he thought it was for my baby... Another comment we had was their condiments section. What can you say bout their vinegar, fish sauce and soy sauce... Very 80's...They haven't changed their style since then. And it's very homey for me. They never tried to compete on how others would pattern on the evolving styles on how foreign neighboring countries serve their foods, they had their own style and it's truly Filipino. Filipinos are well known for trying to reuse anything that can still be used. And this is one way of saying we help conserve and manage ecological waste.

Envy Him!!!

Whole Lotta Cars

WOW!!!

My young boy love cars since he was born... These are SOME of his car stockpile. Well I said some because, other cars from his collection were already given away for his yearly gift sharing for Ma-Aga ang Pasko sa Jolibee. These are among his favorties. Others were displayed and others were kept in the storage. As you can see his big cars were all remote controlled cars from US, Europe, and Asia. Yeah!! Everywhere he goes he buys. Lightning Mc queen collection is one of his favorites, from pull back cars, remote controlled cars, talking cars even cars on a cake display... Everytime he talks to his granny, he would utter cars, cars and cars. At his age he has mopre than 100 hotwheels, 20 remote control cars, 40 pullback cars, 20 TOMI, 30 Ferrari collection (even the latest collection from shell, Ferrari Keychain). It doesn't matter to him if it's expensive or not, as long as he likes the look, he gets it. If you will talk to him about cars, I'm sure you'll assume you're talking to a grown up boy because he knows a lot about cars. Mind you, even the basics of driving, he knows. At his early age, well, he's 4 yrs old now, He can drive our car. He knows how to turn the steering wheel like a big boy driving. He can maneuver it and shift gears accordingly. Only the pedals can't be reached by his short legs yet. We are still waiting for another year and my gift would be a Tuazon Driving Enrollment. we are so proud of our kid. And we will support him all the way. Especially his uncle Eric. Railey want's to be a famous drifter. He doesn't fancy rally that much, but drifting is his ultimate ideal.

Sunday Lunch

This sunday was my bro's birthday celebration. So had not just an ordinary lunch but a sunday feast. It was a very hearthy lunch since I was the one who cooked everything...(naks) Anyways, I've had a few favorites among my work of art... My Kangkong with kung pao sauce, my alltime favorite spaghetti, and the ever famous lumpiang shanghai. Very satisfying because it's cooking that i loved doing best after playing with the kids. Can't really tell how I was able to cook my masterpieces because it's really a secret... hehhehe sorry but since cooking pasta is my forte, I can cook it by the heart. Kangkong, this is the first time i am cooking this dish but I tell you!!! Very great... hehehehe...

One Great Mommy Moment

We are so fond of taking pictures. Capturing great moments and making it really memorable. This photo was really a great portrait of happiness.... Can you see how happy my baby Rica was??? She was really crying of happiness... hehehhe ...kidding aside, Rica was holding her milk bottle while we were preparing this shot. She was happy and smiling at my bro while the cam was being prepared. When it's about time to shoot, Ate Lina took her bottle and my bro took the shot, we didn't know that Rica was about to cry already. We didn't know until we saw the picture. She was quietly frowning and we were all smiling. We just laughed at it because she was the only one sobbing in this great picture.. well we thought a great picture, and it turned out to be a cutie pose... It's great being a mom and it feels great to be able to capture the moments of my baby. Having captured all her facial gestures.. Don't worry Rica I'll keep this pic and when you're in your teens, I'll make sure you'll deny everything......hahahahaha....

Opposites Attract

MY friend aphol... She's one great person with full of dreams and ideals. Well, I guess she gets her strength from all her dreams... We've been friends since our single days. But now we've gone a long long way. Our friendship may not be always sweet as an icecream but for me it's a too good to be true friendship. Because we have an exactly opposite mind set. Heeeheh sometimes ideas clashes through but still we manage to learn and get along with each other. I love her and always willing to share emotions with her. I also love her family and I treat them as my own too. We bond and we love shopping and spa. Things were still the same since the day I met her. She's still the same person I used to know. The only difference....I gained weight and she doesn't.. argghh... hehehe...

Sunday Lunch

I was able to have enough time to cook Caldereta today. Though I had a wrong choice of cut for the beef I used. It took me an hour already using my pressure cooker but still it's not yet done.. Anyway, I cooked it the old fashion way. I put the beef in the pressure cooker uncovered. Put soy sauce, kalamansi juice, cut tomatoes, garlic and onion, Laurel leaf, black pepper, a little sprite, water and star margarine. Let it boil first to take off the fats that will boil over the meat. Then after removing, it's about time to cover, be sure it has enough liquid mixture. Why pressurize with the liquid mixture? It will be hitting two birds in one stone, first is to let the beef tender, and second, to make the meet absorb the taste of the mixture. If the meet is tender, remove it from heat and set aside. Saute garlic and oniion then add potatoes and carrots fry a little bit then add the beef. Get some liquid mixture and add it with the sauted beef. Put on the tomato sauce and a little water. Let the potatoes be cooked. Add black pepper, bell pepper and liver spread. Then if you want it to be spicy add 6-10 sili labuyo. Add cheese toppings. Taste it. If unsatisfied u may add salt. This has been my way of cooking of caldereta since I started learning it. Tip. The caldereta will have a better taste 5 hours or more after you are finished cooking because that will be the time the taste will really come out and blend with all the mixture.

An afternoon delight

One of the great vendors in the city hall....good work manang!
Eric having a sip of his mountain dew

My Ketchup-macaroni

The famous guinatan

Just this afternoon, me and my hubby went to Quezon City Hall to get my documents that is due today, although as usual, their deadline date is not always being followed to, it's fine with me, i'm used to their promises anyway... Well, we had a great afternoon delight right in the middle of the city hall. Yes, right in the middle of the hall they have an open space where they allow small food businesses to step in for about an hour or two everyday at lunch time. They are selling packed lunch and meryendas with very cheap prices. Have you wonder how the taste was? Well, the taste is ...uhmmm..err... well, it costs cheaper... the taste? well, uhhmm...er.... the price is just right... Hehehehe. What can we expect for a macaroni worth 25 pesos?? do you expect an itallian taste? Or a taste of spices??? I call it a ketchup-macaroni... Just a sharing, when I was a kid, I used to go with my mom on her work everyday as a seretary. we don't have much money then so my mom would buy meryenda outside her office, often in a carinderia. Since my favorite is spaghetti, then that's what she would order. As I remember it cost's 5 pesos. So, I'm not surprised with the taste of the macaroni I ordered in the City hall. It tastes the same anyway. My hubby ordered Guinatan... He didn't like it... Ssshh...it's only 15 pesos... but he was able to finish the guinatan ha. I said "hey I thought it's not good...?" He just smiled and ....he ordered again...Lumpiang Toge this time. And again he finished it..no left over....it's only 5 pesos...so we had a great meryenda for a very cheap price. Thinking back, I realized that I have to give credits to Mayor Sonny Belmonte for allowing these small vendors an opportunity to earn a little. It's good that they can sell inside the City Hall because there are a lot of people working there who can at least fill their tummy , with a cheap price just to comfort their small amount of salary.

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Here's another interesting sign. My friend kaye contributed the photo. I was confused when I read this sign. I don't know which one is under construction, the road or the sign. Is this some kind of a text lingo??? Hehehehe maybe they lack ink? or a space for the whole phrase??? or maybe the spelling is some kinda confusing??

New York Pizza Depot

Hawaiian Grilled Chicken

New York Pizza Supreme

Classic Carbonarra

Chicken Alfredo

Railey while watching TV

If there's one thing I have observed from all other pizza house, NYPD is a kid friendly pizza house. At the time that my son stepped in this pizza house, they already changed the channel to Playhouse Disney. And luckily Railey's favorite channel. He watched TV while waiting for our orders. At least I've had enough time chatting with my hubby and my bro since my son is busy watching TV. What we ordered? We had very tasting pasta and pizza. According to my bro, NYPD for him is better than our previous pizza tripping, (shakey's is still the best for him though).

One great family friends

My kumare

Beautiful wives with their cool dudes

I'm so happy that there are still people whom you can find happiness to. My kumare who's always there when I feel like chatting, or sharing stories with. If you need advices for your kids, my Kumare is the one you need. With 4 great kids she is really the expert. A very happy and jolly family. They are full of smiles and laughters. Because of "bosing" we are really happy to be called one of their friends. I love them all. Their kids are also amazing. They are good in growing their kids and I'm happy everytime I'm with them...

A night of giggles

jozel, josh, allan, me, mj, kaye and marvin. Eric took the shot

So nice sisig

On the night of Oct. 31, 2008 me and my friends had a great dinner, small chats and numerous giggles. We missed each other. I do really miss them so much. They were some of those few people i really treasure because we had a great bonding when we were still working together. And though now that we have our different careers, we still try, i said TRY to find time to see each other.. HEHEHE talagang try ha kasi it's so hard to gather these people. So busy as a bee... There were times that we get so excited to see each other, pero pag dating ng time na mag kikita na kmi naku a lot of explaining to do ang mga laging absent. Haayy, Although I understand why some can't come, still it's disappointing, kasi naman miss ko na sila eh. heheheh. But at least, we still were able to meet our busy schedules and get to meet at times. And I'm so happy that after all these years, we are still great friends. I love them and I know they love me too. NAks.... Actually, we also miss our other colleagues..Our team leader, our team mates.... Anyway, we had our dinner at Benito's in Tomas Morato. And I love the sisig. It's highly recommended. Very affordable and it tastes good too. We'll soon be having our get together again this Nov 21. We are planning to go to tagaytay and stay for 2 nights... NAku I wonder who's going to be there and who's not. I got no worries, coz kaye was able to record a short clip for those who promised to come....

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Finally, I have agreed in my mind that this exit cannot be used because this WAS their entrance...is it??? So I think we just have to follow the arrow where it is ponting so we can go out. Because this door was used as an entrance, therefore, no one can exit from this.... =)

Sunday Lunch

Photo from google images

Today, we went to 168 mall in divisoria and we didn't have enough time to look for a place to eat for lunch. the ever famous jollibee is always ready to serve our meal in times like this. I ordered Spicy Chicken Joy. hehehe My young heart craves for it. Actually, I don't think the food is enough for my empty stomach but it's good at least we have jollibee always on the go. then after the lunch we went off to go shopping shopping shopping again...

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Another quite interesting sign caught my attention. Noticed the sign? Seating I think is acceptable but, my mind is still debating if the sign "thank you for not seating" is acceptable also. As far as I know the word seating is simply defined as: an area that includes places where several people can sit. But not the action word "to sit." Anyway, just SEAT back and relax...ok???

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Ooohh so tasty coffee, the bestest of all. hehehhe

Upon having our usual meryenda, something caught my naughty sight again. A slogan which sells their product in a very super-superlative adjective. Well, I wish I could try their coffee for this kind of selling tactic. And I hope, mr. webster would get his way to include this word in his Dictionary.

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Another famous sign....hahhaha or should i say combined famous sign for the kids...but for me it's funny. hhehehe...I saw this sign in Baguio. A combined name for two of the most famous fast food chains in the Philippines. And when I looked at their product, I can't seem to find any spaghetti or even french fries and hamburgers. HAHAHAHHA..I wonder if the kids will love this.
