Sign mo, Laugh ko

Ooohh so tasty coffee, the bestest of all. hehehhe

Upon having our usual meryenda, something caught my naughty sight again. A slogan which sells their product in a very super-superlative adjective. Well, I wish I could try their coffee for this kind of selling tactic. And I hope, mr. webster would get his way to include this word in his Dictionary.

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Another famous sign....hahhaha or should i say combined famous sign for the kids...but for me it's funny. hhehehe...I saw this sign in Baguio. A combined name for two of the most famous fast food chains in the Philippines. And when I looked at their product, I can't seem to find any spaghetti or even french fries and hamburgers. HAHAHAHHA..I wonder if the kids will love this.

Sign mo, Laugh ko

Can you read what the sign says???

Ever imagined how a sign board or an advertisement slogan might affect the product or the services that you are marketing? It's been our favorite past time everytime we travel, to find funny signs. Sometimes they give us double meaning or if literal meaning was meant, it becomes funny. I happen to pass by katipunan ave. and I saw this. Funny about this is that I couldn't imagine how a japanese tastes like. Hmmmm.....

Are you ready yet?

Are you ready yet? Are you prepared to go? Have you done all the things that you think needs to be done before you say goodbye? Are you willing to say goodbye to all your love ones? These are the questions that are hard to find the perfect answers. Many people are not comfortable in talking about death. But, I personally believe there's nothing wrong in preparing yourself and be ready for the uncertain day to come. All of us are going to have our own end of story, we may bid goodbye to life differently. Some are good some are not, well hopefully mine would be a good one. And even if you think you are ready to go, we often think of the people we love, how will they feel, how will they react to the situation, and how the life will go on for them. Everytime I think of leaving them, sometimes I feel guilty because I am ready to say goodbye to them but they are not ready to bid farewell to me. I love them, I love myself and I love the life I have in this world. But I'm ready to give it back to Him if the situation calls for it. There are things that I want to fulfill before He asks back my life. Some things were already "mission accomplished", some things are still "in the process", some things are "yet to be done".

1. Have kids, and see them proud and happy
2. Make my mom really proud of me in anyway I can
3. Help my husband the best way I can to make himelf strong
4. Feed the needy
5. Travel with family and make beautiful memories that no one ever get
6. Find all my long lost friends make apeace to some whom I had a not so good endings
7. Invest for the future of my kids
8. Attend to my mom's wedding and my Brother's launching party for whatever business he wants to pursue
9. Greatest portrait of my life
10. Be saved

I think I may say that I'm ready if I already achieved all these things and I can say that I'm ready to go. But we cannot say when our life will end. But please please please, give me enough time to make all things done before leaving the wonderful world and life that I have.

One Great Mommy Moment

They are good pals
Good night my baby sister..=)

Railey takes care of Rica
Kuya and Baby bonding

Another mommy moment feeling came to me on the day of my birthday. Railey is really a very loving kuya. If I were in Rica's place, I think I will be so greatful to have Railey as my kuya. Well, just by seeing them happy together, playing together makes my heart jump and smile. Railey will personally ask me to take photos of them. One great mommy moment to see them loving each other. And everytime i look at their photos together, it really makes me feel happy. It's good to know that they have each other. And if I 'm gone I know they would take care of each other. And these photos are the great memories and moments that I will treasure.

Sunday Lunch

The not so good grilled liempo...sssshhh
My birthday!!! Well, many thought I'll be having my usual pasta and cake for my birthday but now its different. Since I've been going to a lot of restos for the past week, I think my tastebuds craved for something simple. I'm not in the mood of cooking right now because I really wanted to relax and take time for pampering my tired self. So we just went to Tiendesitas and took our lunch in SM Hypermart just across tiendesitas. We were supposed to eat at Savory but it's fullpacked and can't wait for our turn to e seated, we just decided to eat at the food court where they will cook on the spot whatever dish you like. But since I crave for a simple menu, i had grilled liempo and pinakbet for my lunch. We also had pork sisig but I wasn't able t take picture of it. When it landed on the table, it was like washed away so driftly. Anyway, honestly speaking, I didn't enjoy the grilled liempo. Not good as I've expected. But the sisig is very delicious. I won't be eating here ever again...ssssh I think I should not give out the name of the kiosk first...hehehehe

I'm 30 and I'm Pretty

It's exactly 12mn of Oct. 26, 2008 while I'm doing this and I'm turning 30. I was not so happy turning 30 about 2 weeks ago. Why? Maybe because I can't accept the fact that I'll say goodbye to being 20's. Can't get the idea of how am I going to dress up when I'm in my 30's, how to do my make up? Whew! it's quite a pressuring moment on my part because I really hate being old. I don't want to see any lines on my face, sagging skins all over my body, bulges on my torso, even gray hairs. But nothing can stop the time. it's the reality and everybody will come to being 30. Hmmmm, but at this point, I can say that I'm happy being 30 and I've learned to accept the fact that being 30 is not something that you should be scared of. In fact, I'm proud of being 30 because I'm 30 and I'm pretty. Why I feel pretty beisdes being 30? Here are the reasons's why:

1. I have a husband
2. I have my smart kids
3. I have lots of false lashes
4. My MAC makeup makes me feel even more comfortable of my looks
5. I got enough sleep for the past week
6. This is the longest birthday celebration i ever had. (Baguio, NYPD pizza tripping, Fish and Co with my friends, Ice Skating with the kids in MOA, Bonding with my "Ka-Chongs," and more to come) I've never had this week long celebration before and I love it...
7. I have my perfume collection
8. I still have my mom who will always be there for me forever
9. I can drive and go wherever I want
10. I'm 30

After a stressful day...

After a stressful day, you often look for something to make you feel relaxed and comfy. It may be different form one person to another. We have our own set of ideas in mind on how to pamper ourselves. This way, we not only relax our nerves and muscles, but also our tired minds. Imagine, we use our brains 24 hours a day non-stop?!? Our brains are like computers that needs to be rebooted from time to time. It helps our brain to function well and think clearly enough and makes our brains to have the great capacity to hold on to stress and problems. Hmmmm sounds nice to hear, isn't it? Here are some (personal) tips on how you get to relax and ease your mind:
  • Pamper yourself with a good massage, spa and other beauty make over
  • Splurge into shopping (my favorite).
  • Cook a new and exciting recipe for your loved ones
  • Eat in a fancy restaurant that you haven't visited yet
  • Scrapbook your old stuffs, pictures and memorabillias
  • Engage in a few mind buggling activites
  • Watch a good movie in a moviehouse
  • Clean your room.
  • Sleep well and exercise regularly

These are just some personal tips on relaxing your mind and your body. As for me, it really worked. You can try some of these to make you feel more relaxed and ready for another day of work.

Be contented of what you have

At this point where most people are experiencing financial crisis, makes me wonder how can we survive, how can we still make this world a better place for our children and children's children? Honestly, I feel so scared of what might have been waiting for my kids in the future. As an ordinary citizen, of course I am worried of how our world will be soon. After all those tragedies, economic crisis, battles from our own countrymen, government scams and many others, will there be happiness towards the end of it all? The funny thing is that there are still people who are not contented of what they already have, not even thinking of children who have no food on their table, no school uniforms to wear, no slippers to put on, not even a single centavo in their pocket. But still they continue to struggle life. Maybe it would be better to just be contented for the things that we have now and save enough for the future. And if we have a little over, might as well share it to others who are in need. Sharing blessings and being contented is just a simple way of helping ourselves, our pockets, our future and our country. And keep praying that someday, our fellow countryman will join hand in hand for the peace and unity of our nation.

Sunday Lunch

Solibao Restaurant just across the Burnham Park, where we had our sunday lunch...

This sunday we had a not so usual lunch..Why? It's different because we had our sunday lunch not in any fancy resto here in manila but in BAGUIO. Yezzz... Finally I set foot in this wonderful place. And had a great sunday lunch in Baguio with my family. Food there are very great...very filling...Was so happy to have tasted different menu and very fresh, very yummy. Actually, the food we ordered were just the usual food that we eat also here in Manila. Nothing unusual, nothing exotic because I am afraid to try different food, especially foods i do not know. We ordered:

Barbecue - The barbecue tastes good but I didn't like the way it was cooked..There were some parts that was half done... But the taste?? really great!

Sinigang na Baboy - My favorite of the day, this soup tastes like a real sinigang sa sampaloc not like the ready mixed that you easily buy in the stores. I wonder how to cook this one. Tastes natural. hhhmmm so yummy...

Chicken Curry - Not so good. I have a very good taste of "gata" in most menus but this time, it's tastes good for me. (But the chicken surry I am doing is better than this one). Hehehe and also the Malaysian Chicken Curry I tried in Malaysia is great..I'll share it maybe next time. If my bestfriend will teach me how.harharhar...

Inihaw na Pusit - Quite dry. I personally didn't like it. I just tried it and didn't like the taste.

Arroz Caldo - For my baby, since she can't eat our food, I ordered arrozcaldo for her.

Puto Bumbong - Hmmm also my day's favorite. Their puto bumbong tastes different because of the sugar they used. The sugar came from coconut not from the sugar cane. I just don't know how they call it but, it tastes good with the putobumong.

One Great Mommy Moment

This was taken while they were sleeping, can you see they sleep with the same postion...It happens most of the time..If one of them moves the other moves as well and would end up with the same position again..

Everynight before I sleep, I always see to it that my kids are already sleeping. I would stare at both of them and kiss them goodnight. And it makes my tired body really feel better. There were times that I would smile just by staring at their innoocent sleeping habits. I keep thinking and praying that they would grow up to be God fearing persons, and good citizens. I know that if they become God fearing person all the goodness in life will come their way. What are they going to be when they grow up? Are they going to be professionals? Will they be having their own business? What kind of family awaits my kids? I know that with prayers and my unconditional love will be their weapons for a good future ahead. Whew! No moms would wish less for their kids. All the very best as much as possible. How I wish to see them growing and growing with a good personality. As of now, I can see Railey will be growing up a sweet and caring kuya to his sister and to his family. He would always say I love you to us, even with Rica's yaya and our househelp. Very emotional at times but still, he knows how to comfort me if he feels i'm not feeling ok. When his sister would wake up while sleeping at night, Railey comes near her and gently pats her back and kisses her forhead puts blanket on his sister until she finally sleeps back again. It's a great mommy moment..Really. From There I believe that when they grow up, they will help each other and love each other. Railey is a very protective kuya. Although there may betimes that Railey throws tantrum, we can't really help it he's a kid, but he knows how to say sorry. And I'm proud of him because he is sensitive with how other people feels. I hope he will continue being sweet and will not change his affection towards us.

Sunday Lunch

Wonderful sunday!!!! When I was still thinking of what to prepare for our lunch, I looked back on what we had for the past weekdays. And after of food splurging of meaty foods and pizza. which are all very high in calories, i thought of cooking something healthy this time. So here. Stir Fry Mixed Veggies. Healthy, safe and most of all very affordable menu for all. Just stir fry some cabbage, sayote, baguio beans, cauliflower, sitsaro and bell pepper. Then add a little soy sauce, salt and pepper to add taste. Very simple yet very healthy without much MSGSs to take. Hmmm, it taste4s yummy.. maybe because I personally missed eating veggies... after a week long meaty splurge.. now here's a break....Stir Fry Mixed Veggies...

Macapuno Tarts

Last week i made pastries for the family. Our sweet tooth is craving for it. But my mom keep on telling me to practice doing non sweetened pastries or bake low fat goodies because its better for all. Well, this is it. Low fat Macapuno Tarts. very easy to do. actually i've been doing this for couple of years now and my crust recipe is already old aged. But i like doing those recipes that are old fashioned. Because for me they really preserve the taste than the instant recipes or ready to cook recipes. Because old aged recipes from our lolo's and lola's are the kind or recipes that brings out the natural taste of the food. Unlike most that you get to see in the grocery stores nowadays. They are all made up of artificial flavorings that when you use it, you can actually feel that it tastes like MSGs or you might actually say that it tastes like something else. But try doing it the oldies do and you can feel the satisfaction because the tastes copmes out naturally and original.

Hello Kitty and Hello Rica

The reason why I chose the Hello Kitty design for my blogsite is because my daughter loves Hello Kitty. And since I'm a very supportive mom (ahem) to my kids likes and favorites. I took the day off to look for Hello Kitty items. Fortunately I'm a fan of 168 shopping mall in divisoria so I had a chance to choose from a lot of Hello Kitty stuffs there. You can haggle with their prices since i think they already is a reasonable price than any other malls. You can still ask for a lower price especially if you are getting a lot of them. Well, I really didn't take pictures of them because I'm preparing as early as now for her birthday (imagine her bday is on february...) and most items I bought will be given to the guests on her bday. Well, but of course I bought her favorite Hello Kitty Lampshade. When we were in Hello Kitty store, she would smile to Hello Kitty, maybe she thought Hello Kitty was smiling back at her...(poor rica)... So now she can smile and keep smiling to Hello Kitty as much as she wants to because Hello Kitty is all hers now. hehehe Well, As early as now I know my baby would become kikay like me...She loves accessories so much like my bracelets, watch necklaces. she keeps on touching it whenever i get near her. even the headband, she loves it.. maybe because until now she has no hair like me...hehehe kidding... Maybe soon I'll be posting all her cutesy Hello Kitty stuffs...

Sunday Lunch

It's a Sunday today and we would normally go out and eat lunch in a good reastaurant. But because of some reasons, I decided to just stay home and cook for us. Cook something that would make us feel we are havin a fine dining far from our comfort place. In an instant, I decided to have an Itallian menu. Since I have a left over of spaghetti sauce, i thought of doing another dish.. I made Grilled Pepper Chicken (my own recipe). Here it is....
Grilled Pepper Chicken is very easy to do. First I rub calamansi juice with salt and pepper, after 10 mins I cooked it in a pre-heated oven for about 20 mins or until the chicken is about to cook. Then I poured barbeque sauce all over the chicken, turning it upside down once in a while...Then I added more pepper and a little brown sugar to make it more tasty. then wait for couple more minutes...then there you go....tasting it is the best part of my cooking. I served it together with the spaghetti to have an Itallian feel of it...heheheh

Not Feeling well :((

I've been sick since the other night. I feel cold and I sneeze almost every minute. Can't get myself to sleep since i can't breathe thru my stuffed nose. Now I can't get to rest becuase my son doesn't want to go to school if I will not be the one to drive for him. That's what we call the motherhood. even if you feel terribly sick you can't go on leave or on sick leave if your children are requesting for your presence. This motherhood thing is a 24 hour job 7 days a week with no sicke leave and vacation leave benefits. But worth rewarding... The hardships brought about the daily routine gives mothers the full satisfaction...
